Getting Started with Photo Supreme's Integrated HTTP Server

Choose Who Should Be Able to Connect

Choose the smallest access scope that meets your needs:

    Intended useRecommended approach
Only this computerLocalhost; block incoming connections from other computers.
Trusted home or office networkRestrict the host firewall to the intended LAN addresses; use HTTPS for normal use.
A small number of remote usersPrefer an authenticated VPN into the private network, with HTTPS for the web application.
A publicly reachable websitePut an established HTTPS reverse proxy in front of the embedded server and have an administrator secure and maintain it.

Do not enable router port forwarding just to try the server on your LAN. Local-network access does not require public Internet exposure.

    The examples use:

    • 12543: the embedded server's default TCP port. Substitute your configured port.
    • 192.168.1.50: an example LAN address of the computer running Photo Supreme.
    • photos.example.com: an example hostname that you must replace with your own.

Server Edition does not inherit Single User Edition's LAN-only/two-IP restriction. Those edition restrictions are not a replacement for a firewall, and a reverse proxy must not be used to bypass Single User Edition restrictions.
