Getting Started with Photo Supreme's Integrated HTTP Server
Configure and Start the Embedded Server
Open the settings
- Open Photo Supreme Server Edition and the catalog you intend to serve.
- Locate the HTTP Server panel in the left sidebar. Expand it if necessary. The Tools > HTTP Server command also controls the server; it can toggle its running state, so watch the START/STOP button when using it.
- If the server is running, click STOP before changing settings.
- Click the panel's settings/gear icon to open HTTP Server Settings.
Review the settings
| Setting | What to enter or check |
|---|---|
| Port | Normally 12543, unless another application uses it or your administrator assigns another port. |
| Root Folder | The folder containing the supplied PSO pages, including index.htm, assets, images, and config.json. Normally this is Resources\WebServerPSO beneath the Photo Supreme installation. |
| Show homepage on startup | Optional. Opens the local browser when the server starts; it does not change network exposure or start the server automatically after a reboot. |
| SSL Secured | Enables HTTPS directly on the embedded server. See the TLS choices below. |
| SSL PFX File / SSL PFX Password | The certificate/private-key bundle and its password when direct HTTPS is enabled. Keep the PFX outside the web root. |
| Enable logging | Useful for initial setup and troubleshooting. The dialog shows the log-folder location. Restrict access and manage retention. |
| Domain Name Origin | The allowed browser origin for cross-origin requests. This is not a DNS setting, listening-address setting, or firewall rule. See the CORS section. |
Do not set Root Folder to your photo library, catalog/database directory, installation's parent directory, or backup folder. Treat everything placed in the web root as potentially downloadable. Use only the intended web-client files.
Save the settings. Configure config.json as described next, then click START in the HTTP Server panel. The button should change to STOP.
For a local HTTP check, open:
http://localhost:12543/index.htm
Use https:// instead if SSL Secured is enabled. If the startup browser does not open, enter the address manually. Failure to open a browser is not, by itself, evidence that the server did not start.
The desktop application also recognizes the -httpserver startup argument. This starts the embedded server after normal application/catalog startup; it does not replace catalog sign-in or turn the application into a system service. Test startup and restart behavior before relying on unattended availability.
